not-so-weekly update post

Training log and up coming events...

A lot has been going on over at camp Ryan O'Keefe...

It's daylight savings time; which means it's time for Tuesday Night Worlds. TNW is a practice crit over at the Lakes in Summerlin, Tuscany Park in Henderson, and (possibly new location) M Resort in Southern Highlands. I'm unsure as to what the schedule will be, as far as rotating between each venue, but last Tuesday was the first of the season. This race brings all the competing teams from around the valley to sharpen their criterium skills. Nuvision came out in large numbers and I managed to find myself in a breakaway with some very strong riders, which led me to a great finish. I feel in good form.

While the Pros gear up for Milan-San Remo, Tour de Flanders, and other Belgium classics, I am getting ready for Tour de Sol in St. George, Utah. This will be my first race in Utah. A large group from the NuVision Cycling Club will be going up together. The tour consist of a time trial, crit, and road race over two days.

March has been a pretty quiet month for me as far as racing goes. While I am very excited about these few races, I have my mind set on the Redlands Classic Criterium in early April. I'm taking extra time off of work to train and rest before this event. It's not a particularly long or dangerous course but NRC events are always worth a lot of upgrade points. My goal is still to get to a cat(egory) 3 by the end of the season and the best way to achieve that is to perform and finish well in major races.

Back to work I go.
