Ohh Dharma virtualmixtape09

without further delay, the first dharma mixtape of the year and in four months.

Aphex Twin "Avril 14th"
Cherry Ghost "Finally Time and Space Machine Re-Edit"
Washed Out "You and I"
Beach House "Lovelier Girl"
Frente! "Bizarre Love Triangle"
Dear and the Headlights 'Run in the Front"
Flying Lotus "...And the World Laughs with You (Feat. Thom Yorke)"
Gold Panda "You"
Coin Operated Boy "Trust Me (Clouds remix)"
Azari & III "Into The Night (Prince Language Remix)"
The Mind Electric "Sweat"

Not sure where the times goes. Well I do but that phrase is just proper for my delay. This particular mixtape coincides with MEG vol8 mix...that is currently being made.

The month is January, and the east coast is buried in snow again. I'm lucky enough to still be able to commute to work on bike with only leg-warmers and a long-sleeve jersey, Rapha of course.

Early morning bike rides is the inspiration behind these arrangements of songs. I mean early; out the door at 6am kind of early. Watching the sun creep over the mountains from the corner of your eye, shaking from the brisk morning breeze, and spinning around Green Valley; these are what make my mornings. The music starts out soft and slow, with a few brilliant covers thrown in. Shortly after warming up my bones the pace picks up, and before I know it, I'm doing interval sprints down Green Valley parkway...ending with a maxed-out-heart-rate sprint up my favorite hill. Which hill?! Well, that's my secret.

Then it's time for a quick shower and then off to work. It's a strange little ritual but when I get it right the rest of the day just falls into place. Enjoy!

mad photo cred to Anatoly Zenkov...per usual.

CBR 1

Season opener Anger Management CBR #1 Crit in Dominguez Hills, CA.

Last weekends race was great. NuVision was well represented in the season opener and came out with a few top ten finishes. In my race, Nathan and I took off on a break with a few riders with 5 laps to go. It was a smart and effective move and we managed to stay away; but it wasn't enough. With inconsistant efforts and pulls from the other riders in our breakaway, we got swelled up by the main pack on the final lap. It happens. I managed to get a decent sprint in the end but my legs were a bit heavy from earlier efforts.

This upcoming weekend is a rest week, seeing as the race I was going to do is sold out for my category. I'm not too bummed though, this gives me a chance for some extra training and hanging out with my lovely girlfriend. The following week will find me in San Diego.

Reynolds Race Wheelset Deals

High-End wheelsets at outlet prices.

Early race season starts this weekend. Come Saturday, I will be driving down to Dominguez Hills with some fellow NuVision racers. My legs feel well rested and ready to do some work. I'm excited to see some of my California friends and get on the road for a few weeks. Racing season should be in full swing around March, but it's good to get out there and get acclimated to everything again. It's starting...

R.I.P Trish Keenan

Broadcast's frontwoman Trish Keenan entered hospital yesterday.

It seems we are losing all the unspoken heros this year.
According to a statement from Warp Records:
It is with great sadness we announce that Trish Keenan from Broadcast passed away at 9am this morning in hospital. She died from complications with pneumonia after battling the illness for two weeks in intensive care. Our thoughts go out to James, Martin, her friends and her family and we request that the public respect their wishes for privacy at this time. This is an untimely tragic loss and we will miss Trish dearly - a unique voice, an extraordinary talent and a beautiful human being. Rest in Peace.

Meg Ryan

I think about this girl every three seconds.

I moved out of my house and into my Mom's for a short period of time. The Boys of Summer house is dead. Megan and I still get some quality face time in.

Fabian Cancellara in 2010

Fabian Cancellara was awarded cyclist of the year over at CyclingNews.com.

And rightfully so, anyone who gets accused of, literally, having a motor in their bike deserves it. It's hard to see in the photo above but it says Olympic and World Champion on his aero-helmet. He is the fastest time-trialist in the world...year after year.

With the early-racing season only three weeks away it's time to get those miles in. The weather is still barely above freezing but I feel like the advantage I have this season is experience and being well rested. I can't wait to start racing again!
